B Gifted Story

B Gifted was set up by Fi Burge who has worked within the Gift industry for, let's just say.. a long time!

"I grew up watching my father build a hugely successful Greeting Card Company where many days were spent learning behind the scenes with first hand experience of what happens in this industry.  Even in my early teens, I would be counting and wrapping greeting cards surrounded by boxes and warehouse packaging.  I attended art college and during this time during the college breaks I would work within the family business.  If I wasn't picking and packing in the warehouse, I would be working in the creative department working with the creative minds of the design studio.  I spent a number of years in London working within the creative studios of marketing which once again, gave me additional experience and knowledge of how a product should be marketed.  I did return to the family business as Group Product manager and Area Sales Manager but fast forward a further few years and with the addition of my own family I decided to set up Silver B which ended up renaming B Gifted due to most of the items being sourced from British suppliers. 

B Gifted allowed me to juggle my time around the school run and other demands of family life while I continued to source and sell product at gift fairs all over the country, come rain or shine.  On some occasions, it was a necessity to tie down the pop up tent to my car before it took off!  Or thank my blessings that my husband's 4x4 had been loaned to me, while I drove the B Gifted shop through fields and country lanes.  It became my virtual moving shop.  All good experience which I wouldn't change. 

During those years I also offered freelance work as a sales & marketing consultant for other small start up businesses who wanted to take a concept to retail.  Seeing those products in stores today makes me very proud, knowing that I helped another creator make their product a reality.  In recent years I have been looking after Major accounts that included John Lewis, Waterstones, Marks & Spencer, The Little White Company,  Hobbycraft, Boots, Paperchase and multiple independent retailers.  This has given me the insight into the big players, their margins, forecasts, stock management and production.

B Gifted continues the product development & sales strategy being an extra resource for independent businesses in the gift & greeting card industry.  Getting your product from concept to store.

Thank you for visiting this site, it's just a small business run by a full time working Mum who loves this industry and of course loves running around after two kids, the fluffiest of cockapoos and my extremely patient husband.
